Ingredients for Carrot/ Gajar Halwa:
- 1/2 kg carrots finely grated.
- 500ml full cream milk.
- 1 tsp cardamom /elachi powder.
- 1/3 cup sugar.
- 1/4 cup fresh cream.
- 1/4 cup ghee.
- 1/4 cup milk powder (i used nespray).
- 3 tblsp ghee.
- 1 small tin nestle cream.
- 3 tblsp ground almonds.
Step by step how to cook Carrot/ Gajar Halwa:
- Melt ghee in a pot with elachi powder. Add carrots and mix with ghee. Mix together full cream milk, cardamon, sugar, fresh cream, and milk powder and add slowly to carrots...(i whizzed with a stick blender here until carrots were a little more mushy).
- Cook on medium heat until all the milk is absorbed, stirring continuously. When almost dry, add the following: 3 tblsp ghee, tin nestle cream and ground almonds Cook till dry... Keep stirring, taking care not to burn.. Serve with sliced almonds Enjoy.
