Ingredients for Hungarian Tart:
- 250 g soft butter.
- 1 cup sugar.
- 2 eggs.
- 1 tsp vanilla essence.
- 100 ml oil.
- 3 1/2 cups sifted plain flour.
- 4 1/2 tsp baking powder.
- 1 tin jam of choice(290g).
- 1/2 cup desiccated coconut.
- Icing sugar for dusting.
Step by step how to cook Hungarian Tart:
- Cream butter with sugar, add eggs, oil, vanilla and beat well..
- Sift in flour and baking powder. Mix till a soft dough. If it's too sticky add little more flour..
- Seperate the dough into 2 parts. Press one half into a greased tray, spread jam evenly.Sprinkle the coconut all over..
- Grate rest of the dough over covering the jam and bake at 180°c for 20/25mins or till golden.Allow to cool then dust with icing sugar and cut into squares. Enjoy!.
