Ingredients for Traditional Fried Chicken:

  1. 1/2 Chicken (or 1 Kg), cut small or medium.
  2. 2 Tbsp desiccated coconut.
  3. 3 bay leaves.
  4. 400 ml water.
  5. Oil for frying.
  6. Spices need to be blend into paste form:.
  7. 1/2 union.
  8. 4 cloves garlic.
  9. 7 cm turmeric or 1 tsp turmeric powder.
  10. 2 cm ginger.
  11. 3 cm galangal or dried galangal.
  12. 1 Tbsp coriander powder.
  13. 1 Tbsp salt.
  14. 1/2 Tsp chicken stock powder (optional).
  15. 2 stalks lemongrass.
  16. 1 Tbsp sugar.

Step by step how to cook Traditional Fried Chicken:

  1. Clean and cut the chicken as you want, then put it in the pot..
  2. Put in the blended spices, water, desiccated coconut, bay-leaves into the pot and mix well, then let it cook until the chicken cooked thoroughly..
